Cloudflare’s cPanel Plugin to discontinue on November 1st, 2022

October 21, 2022
Heads up! Cloudflare, one of the fastest content delivery networks (CDN) has formally announced that it will discontinue its support for its cPanel plugins, which will take effect on November 1, 2022. This is unfortunate news for many of us, who integrate websites with Cloudflare using the cPanel plugin.

Don't Panic!

The existing domains and accounts for customers will continue serving traffic and will not be impacted. This means that you will no longer be able to manage your Cloudflare settings within cPanel and Plesk. Instead, you must log in to Cloudflare directly to manage your settings.

Why is Cloudflare retiring the cPanel plugin?

Due to maintenance and support costs, Cloudflare is discontinuing the CDN plugins for cPanel and Plesk.

Cloudflare outage on June 21, 2022

Cloudflare experienced an outage on June 21, 2022, according to its status page. Cloudflare’s technology powers numerous other sites and services across the internet, and the outage seemed to impact a range of different sites, including Discord, Shopify, Grindr, Fitbit, and Peloton.

Reports of issues started at around 2:30AM ET. Cloudflare reported that it has resolved the issue at 4:06AM ET.

Cloudflare has experienced similar issues in the past such as in July and August 2020. It’s not a good look for a company that advertises its services to reduce downtime.

Do we recommend BunnyCDN over CloudFlare?

If you are searching for a Budget-Friendly CDN and great speed, then you should consider BunnyCDN. You can still cary on with CloudFlare, but you wont be able to cPanel or Plesk Control Panels anymore.

Please, note there is nothing wrong wtih CloudFlare. We like both the Bunny and Cloudflare CDNs.
